The RCA WV-98C Senior VoltOhmyst is an all electronic voltmeter designed to measure DC voltages, resistance, AC RMS values of sine waves, and AC peak-to-peak values of Complex waves. Voltages in all three categories may be measured up to 1500 volts with an accuracy of ±3% of full scale. Input resistance is 11 megohms on all DC ranges. AC input averages 1 megohm shunted by 60 pF and response is from 30 Hz to 3 Mhz.
Seven voltage ranges are provided for AC RMS measurements, eight ranges are provided for DC voltage measurements, including a 0.50 volt range. Resistance values up to 1000 megohms, and AC peak-to-peak values up to 4200 volts may also be measured. The low .5 volt DC range was a change from the earlier Senior Voltohmyst series.
All vesions had an 6.50 inch meter. Early manufactured units the meters were as depicted in the user manual: 1) the power on indicator is a neon lamp behind a hole surrounded by a red circle at the upper left 2) the RCA logo is the 'meatball' on the upper right 3) the low AC scales have red and black PP and RMS next to each other, and 4) the bottom script reads 'Radio Corporation of America, Camden, N.J., USA'.

ACCESSORIES INCLUDE: (a) WG-299D switchable DC, AC/ohms probe. This probe contains a 1 Megohm isolation resistor. The cable is shielded and terminates in a 'switchcraft microphone' style connector. Very late versions were supplied with the WG-299E probe. The only difference was the color changed to a light grey and the shielded cable changed from approximately 1/4' diameter to 1/8' diameter being more flexible.
